INJURED LOVE The tear slowly slipped down her face, leaving a dirty trail down her cheek. Today was the day. He would be coming home.
It had seemed a lifetime that he had been away. Her heart skipped as she remembered the day she had first taken him to hospital, after he had become so sick. She remembered the look in his eyes that day, so helpless, so alone, so much pain.
She had visited him as often as she could after that; each time leaving him had torn her heart, until it was in shreds.
That was several weeks ago, now here she was, and after all the pain and suffering he would soon be there with her once more. Soon, so soon, she would hold him in her arms, and gaze into his deep brown eyes, and see the love there.
The doorbell rang and there he was the same look, the same eyes lighting up at the sight of her. She took him carefully in her arms, not wanting to hurt the freshly scarred body. He kissed her face, and a wet tongue let her know he was home.
She took him into the house, and placed him tenderly on the rug. She loved her dog, he was everything to her, and now he was home
